I’m so sorry this took me so long to answer but college is hell.

I genuinely think that ships like Snarry or Snamione are horrible, to put it simply. Like why would someone think that shipping Harry or Hermione with Snape of all people is good or cute?

First off, the ages of the characters is one of the things that puts me off the most. Harry and Hermione are barely legal adults by the end of the series (and are children for most of the series) and Snape is in his 30s. To me, that is a very big no no. Even if people try to play it off with the whole time travel au plots, I still can’t understand it.

Second, Snape is a bully to at least 75% of the children he teaches, Harry and Hermione being included in that. Leading to his treatment of Harry and Hermione also gets treated horribly (e.g. GoF where Hermione’s teeth are rapidly growing and he says that he sees no difference) by Snape. Like he’s a grown man bullying children (and also still holds onto a childhood grudge against a long since dead man).

Third, Snape is a Death Eater and if Voldemort hadn’t have gone after Lily, I think that Snape would’ve stayed a loyal Death Eater. After all, he only went to Dumbledore when Lily’s life was in danger (canonically didn’t care about James or Harry, despite Lily’s love for them), due to his obsession with Lily. Harry and Hermione are polar opposites to that belief, fighting entirely against Voldemort.

That’s mainly it to be honest. That fact that there are people out there who genuinely enjoy and ship these type of ships continues to surprise me. Also, hell yes, fuck Snape!

So yesterday i was reading (if that is even what i did, i practically skimmed through the first chapter) this Snarry fic that takes place in a “if Voldemort won” universe. Harry is a girl and Severus is her guardian. The problem with this fic starts with the mischaracterization of Severus. Its the classic “daddy dom” fanon version of him that has no emotions and sees Lily as nothing more than an object😭 this is obviously done to make the ship between Harry and Severus more appealing, but it just gives me the ick because Severus would N E V E R. AND ITS NOT LIKE THEY MISCHARACTERIZE EVERYONE, DRACO IS VERY CANON..Harry is lowkey BAMF and i love her, but her crush on Severus is not very realistic unless shes fucking batcrazy. Like- SILAS IS RIGHT THERE???? A HEALTHY DECENT GUY THAT IS AMBITIOUS AND SHARES A BUNCH OF TRAITS WITH YOU?????????? Raw, next question. But nooo shes too loyal to Severus, her step father and the person she wants to have inside her 😇😇😊😊😊!!!!! So she gets mad whenever he flirts with her??? Hun you literally blushed.

This is the same feeling as reading a one shot with a crazy good idea and backstory but its literally just there for a single scene 🙂‍↕️ Its such good writing and the idea is amazing and i wanna see more of it but why pedophilic Snarry…. What did we gain from this???? As a person who sees Snarry as lowkey a crack ship i cant take this amazing fic seriously 😭 ALSO HARRY HAS A TOUNGE PIERCING????? WE NEED MORE??????????
